What we've been up to!

Happy Thursday!!!! Here's a little of what we've been up to lately :)

Last Friday we had a dress rehearsal for a wedding Noah was in so we dropped our luggage off to my parents and headed to the church! But not before I snapped a pic of my new Stella & Dot bracelet

I have no pics of the rehearsal, dinner, or the ceremony the following day but it was beautiful and Tyler and Sarah are so in love!!

They had a photo booth so we had to join in on the fun!

Noah was an usher in the wedding, he has been lifelong friends with the couple and I am so thankful to have gained his friends as mine when we started dating!

Some friends, along with the bride and groom:) We left the reception earlier than most because we had a 5:15 am flight out of Indy the next day!!

4 am and we are ready to see family!!!! We flew from Indy to Charlotte and Charlotte to Raleigh where the rest of the family was! His parents drove us to the airport and we had some flood waters we navigated through (and I may have feared for my life) but we made it!!

We landed in Charlotte!! Only an hour and a half until we arrive!

My auntie needed a selfie so a coffee selfie she got :)

Woo hoo we are in Raleigh and waiting on our ride!! Only 3 hours to drive for us, (everyone else drove 10 hours the day before) to arrive at our home for the week!

We are here!!!! A little background....our family (my mom's side) has done this every two summers since around the time I was born. Usually the case is that you have to be engaged or married to bring your significant other along and since we got engaged in December Noah was able to go! Little did we know that we would be married on this trip!! Funny how God works :)

Every trip on the first evening the women go shopping at Walmart for food for the week. Usually we have to make at least one trip a day to the grocery store for little things we are out of. Think food for 36 people!! We fill up about 8-9 carts and more every year! The women arrived back and we had pizza for dinner :)

Monday morning started and ended like this! Perfect day in my book :)

Family volleyball tournament :)

She's cute :)

We have a theater room in our house and this is what we did with our Monday night! Watched the Bachelorette :)  #teamShawn

Tuesday was spent in the sun also....after dinner that evening my uncle John said that we all should head to the ocean (he had a surprise.)

After we were all down there he pulled out 2 floating lanterns that he wanted to set off for grandpa and grandma :)

Susan, Alyse, and Abby!

It took awhile to get them lit and enough air in them for them to float.

Grandpa's finally went but we never could get grandma's to go...

Since grandma's wouldn't float Gabe asked if he could bury it in the sand. Be still by heart!

They buried it and then Gabe prayed over it and for his great-grandparents :)

Love this family so much!!

Wednesday morning began with a walk where we found this big green chair. Noah was so happy to have his picture taken (can you tell??)

And his picture taking skills are awesome!!
Wednesday was another pool day :) But that evening everyone was headed to Captain George's!

Captain George's is a seafood buffet (which I don't like) and everyone loved it! I ordered a cheeseburger and fries off the menu and it was delicious :)

And this girl passed her PTA boards (she found out yesterday) so we were all excited!!!
Today is overcast so that's what I'm blogging but we are hoping the sun will pop out after lunch!!

Keep up with the rest of our vacation:

  1. Okay this looks like SO MUCH FUN. I also love that you have a theater room! It looks so comfy in there. I would've ordered a burger and fries over a seafood buffet any day too!

  2. Hello! This is my first time here! It sounds like you're from Indiana? I'm a Hoosier too. :) Anyway, your family vacation looks amazing - especially that pool and theater! I hope the rest of your trip was just as wonderful!
