Weekend Wrap-Up

Our weekend was filled with....basketball, most weekends will consist of that until March :)

Our high school played Friday & Saturday night....they won one and lost one. We are seeing improvements every game!

Last week I sat down with some peppermint ice cream, a gingerbread cookie, & a holiday magazine...it was pure bliss!

Friday night was our home game and Saturday I hung around the house until I headed to watch these two play...

...I watched about half of their game and then headed to the high school game.

But not before this boy took a few selfies :)

Sunday Noah headed to early service (he was supervising the gym most of the day) and I headed to church with my family. We ate lunch and then this little boy & his parents came over for me to take their Christmas card pictures :)

I'm a bit biased :).

Basketball game in the afternoon and then we took Joe with us to the stroll. This season is my favorite season and the stroll is a reason for our town to come together.
#Iloveourlittletown

He was in heaven :).

We drank hot cocoa & a local church was giving the women wrapping paper as a gift.
Joe told me he needed that because...he had to wrap Noah's present.

Around 6 it was time for the Festival of Lights Parade and we love this parade.

A local decorated his golf cart and had a train with children in it.

My mom & sister were in the parade for our church float as angels...our church won the grand marshall's choice! :).

I enjoy seeing things through his eyes :).

Our high school band marches and plays while our high school dance team (the Lionettes) dance to the song they play. Joe got to pet the miniature pony too :).

Santa was the last of the parade and Joe loved seeing him.

After the parade we headed into Rosie's to see Cole. His girlfriend's mother owns the shop so he was roped into working during the stroll :).

We had such a fun time at the stroll & parade.

Happy Monday and tomorrow I am sharing our Christmas decorations!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday friends! We have a full weekend of basketball ahead of us :)

I'm joining ErikaNarci, & Andrea as usual to share our Friday Favorites!

Season basketball games start tonight and I am super excited. I love watching basketball especially in our gym...the atmosphere is my favorite :)

Basketball season is a favorite around here.

Our Friendsgiving was last week and I talked in detail about it on Tuesday

It is one of my favorite Christmas traditions to date :)

Buddy the Elf is also my favorite during the holidays.

Yesterday I shared our Christmas traditions we've started and they make me so happy.

They are my favorite traditions and I get to continue those traditions with some of my favorite people :)

It's almost the weekend!!!

What are your plans this first weekend of December??

Christmas Traditions

I am super happy to share a few of our Christmas traditions with you! This will be our first Christmas as a married couple but that doesn't mean we haven't created a few traditions.

Check them out...

Around the first weekend in December our town has their annual Christmas stroll & parade. We will be joining in on the fun this Sunday :)

Last year we walked in the parade with our church float. Joe rode in the float and Noah & I walked and handed candy out.

These two are some of my favorite people :).
After the parade we walk main street, sip hot cocoa, & enjoy the sights. As long as our town hosts the stroll we will be there.

I can't wait to look back in a few years at our first stroll as a family.

Next up....gingerbread house :).

I feel as if all most of our traditions started last year but they did because that was our first Christmas dating. Last year at this time we both still lived at home, just dating, and I had no clue what was to come in just a few weeks.

But we made our first gingerbread house at my parents'.

It was fun and messy...very messy. Maybe this year we will learn from that!

I purchased our gingerbread house this week and hopefully we will find time this weekend to make ours. It makes me so happy that we will be making it in our own home and will display it there :).

French Lick is a few towns over from ours and they have a casino & hotel. They always decorate it for Christmas and it is a beautiful sight to see!

Last year we headed over for Noah's birthday and Joe loved it!

A few weeks later we went with friends to the tree lighting and it was such fun. We weren't able to go this year because...life.

Noah & I are bound and determined to make a trip over this year to continue the tradition.

This tradition started this year and we cannot wait for next year :)

I blogged about our first annual Friendsgiving on Tuesday.

It was such a fun evening and a lovely tradition to carry on.

Lastly our Christmas tree...

...it probably needs some work but it's our first time and we will learn for next year.

I love our tree, it's perfect for us :). We took a Sunday and tackled it together.

Our topper is crooked and the lighting isn't the best but it's home.

I am so glad I was able to share a few of our Christmas traditions and maybe next year we'll have a few more. I love this time of the year...I can't help but be in the holiday spirit!

Happy Thursday friends!!

What's Hap-"pinning"

Today is Wednesday and that means we are almost halfway through the work week!! Hooray!

It has been awhile since I've done one of these posts but that doesn't mean I haven't been pinning!

I created a board for all things Christmas and it is one of my favorites this holiday season.

You'll find this pin there and a few others.

I think this is hard for all of us to remember at times. I pray that I can remember this at all times.

Now for a funny....

...Elf. I love this movie and the laughter it brings!
We have it set to record on our DVR this weekend and you betcha I'll be watching it on repeat this month :)

Now about the smiling quote. I cannot help but be happy this holiday season. I am so blessed. This will be our first as a married couple. A first in our own home. A first for so many things...but most importantly it will be our first Christmas making Jesus the reason for the season and I can't help but smile :).

I also created a board for food because who doesn't love some peppermint???

I know I do :)

Peppermint is my favorite flavor in the winter....it makes me feel cozy inside :)

Don't these look yummy?

You can find the recipe here.

I am really anxious to make these.

I bought the kisses yesterday and they are perfect this holiday season.

Recipe here.

You can follow me on Pinterest here  to see what I've been pinning :)

I had a moment of weakness yesterday and bought this...

I am so so excited about tomorrow's post.... :).

Friendsgiving

It's December....I looked down at my phone this morning and I couldn't believe it!

I spaced today :(

I thought it was Show & Tell Tuesday and I got to show you our Christmas decorations but that's next Tuesday.

So today I thought I would share with you about our 1st Friendsgiving.

It will be a continued tradition :).

I have six really close girlfriends that I went to high school with and we are all in different stages of our lives :) But that's what makes our time together so special. I love doing life with these ladies and they make me laugh :)

About a month and a half ago (we have a running group text and the men in our lives despise it :)) someone texted and said we should start a Friendsgiving. Well I had no clue what that meant but we made it our own.

We all decided who was bringing what and went from there. I hosted and it was perfect!

We had roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole, salad, a veggie tray, & rolls for the main course.

Isn't this turkey cute??

And for dessert we had pumpkin pie, caramel apple cheesecake, & Andes Mint Bundt Cake :)

It's not a party without a few pictures of us, right??

I am so thankful for these people.

From left to right: Brittany, Allyson, Leah, Kylie, Megan, & I

(Psst can you tell the difference between Leah & Megan?)

We started a new tradition this year and we will build on it next year :)

A year ago I never would have said we would be where we are now. I keep thinking about where we will be next year too...

Happy December 1st :)
