I am super happy to share a few of our Christmas traditions with you! This will be our first Christmas as a married couple but that doesn't mean we haven't created a few traditions.
Check them out...
Around the first weekend in December our town has their annual Christmas stroll & parade. We will be joining in on the fun this Sunday :)
Last year we walked in the parade with our church float. Joe rode in the float and Noah & I walked and handed candy out.
These two are some of my favorite people :).
After the parade we walk main street, sip hot cocoa, & enjoy the sights. As long as our town hosts the stroll we will be there.
I can't wait to look back in a few years at our first stroll as a family.
Next up....gingerbread house :).
I feel as if all most of our traditions started last year but they did because that was our first Christmas dating. Last year at this time we both still lived at home, just dating, and I had no clue what was to come in just a few weeks.
But we made our first gingerbread house at my parents'.
It was fun and messy...very messy. Maybe this year we will learn from that!
I purchased our gingerbread house this week and hopefully we will find time this weekend to make ours. It makes me so happy that we will be making it in our own home and will display it there :).
French Lick is a few towns over from ours and they have a casino & hotel. They always decorate it for Christmas and it is a beautiful sight to see!
Last year we headed over for Noah's birthday and Joe loved it!
A few weeks later we went with friends to the tree lighting and it was such fun. We weren't able to go this year because...life.
Noah & I are bound and determined to make a trip over this year to continue the tradition.
This tradition started this year and we cannot wait for next year :)
I blogged about our first annual Friendsgiving on Tuesday.
It was such a fun evening and a lovely tradition to carry on.
Lastly our Christmas tree...
...it probably needs some work but it's our first time and we will learn for next year.
I love our tree, it's perfect for us :). We took a Sunday and tackled it together.
Our topper is crooked and the lighting isn't the best but it's home.
I am so glad I was able to share a few of our Christmas traditions and maybe next year we'll have a few more. I love this time of the year...I can't help but be in the holiday spirit!
Happy Thursday friends!!
French Lick looks beautiful! I've never decorated a gingerbread house! I know mine would come out looking like a preschooler did it but I think it'd be so fun anyway!
