Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend was sunny and packed with everything summer!

Friday after work it was hair day! Before this year I got my hair cut once a year...I know.
But there's just something about getting your hair done that's relaxing :).

Friday night Noah & I headed to Louisville to grab some groceries & return some things. It was a night together that we enjoyed :).

Saturday morning I went for a run while Noah cleaned.....I love that man!
It was another pool day for us.
Abby & Sugar (the dog).

Jill, Mary Ann, & I.

Saturday evening we had dinner plans with family & friends.

After dinner we stopped for ice cream before we headed back to our pastor's house.

Cold Stone it was!

Before we headed home it was picture time. You can tell everyone cooperates well...

Love this family of mine!

Dinner was with my parents & siblings, our previous pastor & his wife, and Greg & Sissy.
This is something I've never really talked about on the blog (I think.)
3 years ago tomorrow my mom gave one of her kidneys to a stranger (we knew who Sissy was just from church & living in the same town.)

My mom did something she felt God calling her to do. Most of us would ignore that call but my mom felt sure of it. The bond her & Sissy now share is something you cannot describe. Every year on the anniversary (within a few days) we celebrate with both of our families and our pastor at the time.
It's really not my story to tell but what a humbling joy this has been!

My sister turned 21 in May and had never been to the bar in our town, so on the way home we stopped for a drink.

Showing Morgan the ropes :).

Sunday best!

We had a welcoming dinner for our (new) pastor Sunday after church.

To the pool it was and then to finish watching the Catfish softball tourney last night.

As I'm typing I smell our pumpkin marshmallow cupcake candle and I am thinking fall thoughts!

(I have no idea why my pictures are not centered.)

Friday Favorites

I woke up this morning to learn of what happened in Dallas. Less than a month since Orlando. When will it stop? My heart is breaking for the families and everyone involved. My comfort comes from knowing that God is in control and that there is something better waiting for us.

My Friday Favorites are short today & I'm linking up with ErikaNarci, & Andrea as usual :).

Noah & I are planning on playing in a Glo Ball golf scramble next weekend so he wanted to show me the ropes. Lol.

He took me to the driving range and taught me how to properly hold the club but as you can see it was hopeless. I got bored quickly and I've decided that I'm better in the cart reading :).

He loves him some golf.

I'm pretty biased :).

Then we moved to the putting green and that went much smoother.

 Woo hoo it's going in!!

Even though golf isn't my thing we had fun! I am thankful to be able to do dates like this and have him teach me something he loves. We laughed a lot!

So this is really random. Yesterday I thought I would look back at last summer's pictures and I cannot believe what I saw. Last July I actively started eating healthier, cutting out pop, and exercising regularly. I lost about 14 pounds within two months and was feeling great! Factor in basketball season and eating late, I was at a standstill. I completed one round of Whole 30 in March/April and lost quite a bit more. I ended up putting some weight back on. I've been running for 4 weeks now and am starting to see a difference again. But until I looked at this picture I didn't realize how much change there really was. Posting this picture makes me vulnerable to comments and I know that, but I can't help but be proud of myself. I know my weight will always be a struggle but God gave me this body so I need to take care of it.
One last thing, it's not a diet...it's a lifestyle change.
As of last night I am down 28 pounds total since July 2015.

Because I really love coffee & our home :).
Side note: the pillows need fixing lol!

Lastly this refined tee came in and I threw it on immediately. It is super comfy and on sale for $10 right now. I love it paired with the breezeblock pendant! Add on the gilded path bracelet to complete it!

Happy Friday friends and have a blessed weekend!

Our Fourth

Our Fourth of July was very different this year. We knew rain was on the forecast and that's pretty much all it did the whole weekend.

Friday after work I picked up these two & fed them lunch.

Crazies :).

We jumped in the car and headed to their house to swim....

....well float :).

I am so thankful for Friday afternoons.

Friday evening we celebrated Elin's 4th birthday! Her actual birthday is July 4th.

Sweet Embry.

And the birthday girl! She loved her party. Noah & I left to work the lemon shake-up booth at the Catfish and then ran back to celebrate Elin some more :).
We love this little girl & her sister to the moon and back.

We started our Saturday morning at the pool but it didn't last long. Boo.

It stayed cloudy & overcast so we stayed and visited.
If you remember last year, Noah played softball in the Catfish tourney. This year he "retired" so we went to watch my cousin Bryant (he plays on the team Noah used to play on). They won and then it started raining.

Sunday morning I made monster cookies & pasta salad.

We had a cookout with family for lunch and I guess we were too boring for him :).

I can't help but laugh at this. Jaelyn, my cousin, and Noah love to tease each other.

There may have been some battling going on :).

And some more sleeping.

Some more teasing :).

My auntie posted this on IG Sunday and said she loves having a full house. I can't help but look at this picture and smile. Family is one of my favorite things.

If you look in the left corner there is still some teasing going on lol.

Oh this girl. She is ten years younger than me but the same height. She loves being as tall/taller than me.
I love this picture :).

These two decided to swim.

We headed home for an hour and then to another dinner at my in-law's!

LJ loves SnapChat :).

Monday morning we slept in...it was gross all day.

Around noon I headed for a run, 4 miles on the 4th :).

We laid around and then cooked dinner. It was a low key, relaxing weekend.

Friday Favorites

Happy July friends!
Linking up with ErikaNarci, & Andrea for Friday Favorites :).

We recently bought new nightstands for our bedroom and I am loving the look of them :).
Also that pillow in the middle!

I posted this picture on Instagram and I love it's simple reminder.

Tuesday Ash texted & asked if I wanted to join her and the boys for lunch at the park. Well of course!

Goodness I love them big!

Mexican date night with my hubby!

Getting closer to finishing this book and can't put it down!

Just a sweet look into our week and I hope you all have a safe holiday weekend!
We are thankful for the reason that we have a 3-day weekend :).
